Economy + Teachers = ???

A fear is beginning to build within my body. Turning on the computer or listening to the news continues to create further concern. The situation is looking bleak for a significant amount of individuals, including teachers. Soon I will be graduating and preparing to begin my journey towards landing my first teaching position. What are my odds going to be in obtaining a solid teaching role? My goal is to remain positive and continue to attain endorsements; however, video clips like the one below quickly return reality to my front doorstep.

I have been laid off 4 times in NJ...but teaching is all I have ever wanted to do...so I'll never give up! Keep your head up and set yourself apart! Make your resume colorful, send people to your blog to see your ideas, create a portfolio, and get your special education certification! :)

It's a scary time for us! In Michigan, our governor has done a really good job of making teachers public enemy number one. :(

Good luck!

thanks for stopping by my blog!

Keep your head up! The economy is rough all around but its slowly turning around. If you can't get into the system right away try to apply at a daycare or private school in the meantime. Try to stay positive! Good Luck!

It's a tough time for teachers- I can't lie to you. But the good news is that I have seen people time and time again work their way into a job. It may not be your own classroom immediately, but go in and meet principals in person when you can. If it doesn't work out, don't worry- subbing or being an aide and showing how good you are will usually lead to a job later! :) It may take a little time, but it will happen for you eventually!

Don't be discouraged. As long as people keep having children, the world will need teachers. :) If you are able to relocate to another state, you will increase your chances of getting a position. Most of all, if this is your passion, trust that something will work out. Thanks for visiting my blog. I am now folowing yours as well.
